DEARBORN, Mich. - After a successful show season-opening MCA National event down in Houston this past March, the Mustang nation is gearing up for the second MCA Nationals show of 2019, dubbed the Northern Star National Mustang Show. For this first-ever Mustang Club of America National event to be held in the Minneapolis area, two Minnesota Mustang clubs have teamed up to host the big show in the Land of 10,000 Lakes: the Southwest Metro Mustang Club, and the Upper Midwest Regional Shelby American Automobile Club.
With the host hotel located in Bloomington, Minnesota, and a wide variety of activities scheduled over the entire June 28-29-30 show weekend, you can expect to find lots to see and do for every member of your family. In addition to all of the great Mustangs you’ll see there, well over 100 restaurants are located in Bloomington, and the show site is only six miles from world-class shopping at the Mall Of America. What’s more, Downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul, Target Field, Mystic Lake Casino, Canterbury Park Horse Track, numerous theatres and museums, Water Park of America, Valleyfair Amusement Park as well as Paisley Park are within 20 miles of the show.
Of the hundreds of regional Mustang car shows held all across the country each year, the Mustang Club of America selects only a handful as "MCA National" shows. These are the big, memorable, officially judged shows that Mustang lovers will gladly travel long distances to attend – and even plan their family vacations around! Check out the video on the host club’s Facebook page and make plans to head north by month’s end!
If you can only go as far as Cincinnati that weekend, then you can still see a great show. The Queen City Mustangers are presenting their 12th Annual Mustang & All Ford Car Show on Saturday, June 29, at Lakota West High School in West Chester, Ohio. We’ve been to this show, and can vouch you’ll have a great time at this venue.
If the weekend before that is your only time to travel, then you’ve still got some fine car show options. The Falls City Mustang Club of Southern Indiana is hosting the Falls City Mustang Club 24th Annual Mustang & All Ford Weekend, June 21-22, at Jim O'Neal Ford in Sellersburg, Indiana, with a Pony Drive on Friday and a show on Saturday; the Mustang Club of Greater Kansas City is putting on its 35th Annual Mustang & Ford Show June 22 at Bass Pro Shops in Olathe, Kansas; that same Saturday, the Mustangs of Massachusetts Car Club is running a Mustang & All Ford Car Show at North Dartmouth Mall in Dartmouth, Massachusetts; and also on June 22nd you’ll find the 1st Mustang and Ford Car Show being conducted by the South Jersey Mustang Club at Medford Ford in Medford, New Jersey. Even if you only have June 15 as a play day on your calendar, there’s still a Mustang show you can attend. The Vintage Mustang Owners Association is putting on its 42nd Annual Vintage Mustang Owners Association Car Show on Saturday June 15 at The Home Church in Campbell, California. Check your calendars, then click on the club links for more info on each event.
Toronto-Area Mustangers Gear Up for FoxFest at Peterborough Speedway June 9
Interest in the 1979-93 Fox Body Mustangs has been skyrocketing of late so it should be no surprise that when a big show comes along celebrating the third-generation Mustang, people get fired up. That’s exactly the case for “FoxFest 2019,” set for June 9 at the Peterborough Speedway in Ontario, Canada. While you can expect plenty of Mustangs to come from the Toronto area, don’t be surprised to see lots of plates from U.S. states, as Fox Body lovers from all over the Northeast have discovered a good time for the whole family can be had at FoxFest.
Dave Harman and his Fox Body Mustangs Peterborough (FBMP) group grew last year’s event so big that they’ve outgrown their previous venue and are holding this year’s 3rd annual show at the Peterborough Speedway, from 8 a.m. till 3 p.m. The show is open to all Fords, so along with the hundreds of Mustangs expected, you’ll also find engines revving on the dyno all day long testing horsepower and torque, great vendors, door prizes, and even a kids zone with Razberry The Clown, bouncy castles and more. For more FoxFest 2019 details, check out the FBMP’s Facebook page HERE.

Get Your Mustang’s Airbag Recall Completed!
The Takata airbag recalls are the largest and most complex recalls in U.S. automotive history. The recalls currently affect 19 automotive manufacturers and roughly 37 million vehicles. Among these affected vehicles are 2005-2014 model year Mustang vehicles.
In 2014, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Takata Corporation determined that a defect related to motor vehicle safety may arise in some non-desiccated, ammonium nitrate airbag inflators due to propellant degradation occurring after prolonged exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling. This degradation can cause the propellant to burn too quickly, creating high pressure inside the inflator, and in extreme cases causing the inflator to rupture in the event of a crash necessitating airbag deployment. A ruptured inflator can send inflator parts toward vehicle occupants resulting in serious injury or death. Additional information regarding Takata recalls can be found at www.nhtsa.gov and www.safercar.gov.
Parts are readily available to repair currently recalled Mustang vehicles. Ford sent out weekly mailings last October and November to all Mustang owners whose vehicle currently has an open Takata airbag recall. It is important that you determine if your vehicle is affected and, if so, have it repaired FREE by a Ford or Lincoln Dealer, especially before it goes into storage for the winter.
In some cases, only the driver’s or passenger’s side may be affected. In other cases, both the driver’s side and passenger’s side need to be repaired. The passenger side airbag cover is not replaced during the repair, so any signatures or other insignia on your dash will remain.
This situation requires immediate attention and is not to be taken lightly. You can input your VIN at www.FordAirbagInfo.com to see if your vehicle is affected by the airbag recall and locate a dealership to you schedule your repair. If you need assistance scheduling an appointment, or your dealership indicates that they are not able to obtain parts to repair your vehicle, please contact our Ford Customer Care Team at 1-866-436-7332.
Here’s How Easy it is to Have Your Car Featured in our Ford Fan Spotlight
For the past decade, one of the most popular features on FordPerformance.com and in our Fast News e-newsletter continues to be "Ford Fan Spotlight," where readers can send in their own reasons why they're fans of Ford Motor Company. You know who they are: Ford "superfans;" grassroots Ford racers; unique Ford vehicle owners; loyal Ford enthusiasts; notable Ford club people; special Ford families; and/or any avid supporter of Ford, Ford vehicles, Ford motorsports or Ford Performance who deserves a little bit of special recognition.
All you need to do to get you, your car or candidate considered is to send in a brief description (200-500 words or less) and a few photos (in .jpeg format, preferably 300 dpi) of a person (full name and hometown, please) and vehicle that you think Ford Performance should feature (and why) in the "Ford Fan Spotlight" for an upcoming installment of Fast News and posting on FordPerformance.com. Then email it to: ClubHub@Ford.com. Should you wish to send a video, you simply need to post it on www.YouTube.com (preferably 1-2 minutes long) and send in the link, along with a brief description, to that same ClubHub@Ford.com email address. We'll choose one submission each week. We hope to see YOU and your Ford in our Spotlight soon!

That’s because Ford cars and trucks have the kind of personality and style that forges a personal connection with their owners, who in turn celebrate ownership each year at hundreds of enthusiast events all over the country.
