NORTHVILLE, Mich. – A great way to get revved up about a summer full of car shows is to start attending local “Cars & Coffee” events to check out some new rides and builds. You’ll recall we sent one of our correspondents, Ford-retiree-turned-roving-photographer Bill Cook, out last fall to visit a local Cars & Coffee that was hosting their season-ending event, so we thought why not send him back for this year’s season-opener?

Cook lives only a few miles from the Detroit suburb of Northville, Michigan, which hosts some popular cruise-in venues in this historic little city’s downtown area. As we’ve reported before, one of them is located at the ZF North America complex in nearby Northville Township, and it is known as the “E.C.C. Cars and Coffee.” ECC stands for Exotic Car Connections, the LLC that organizes the bigger monthly events. So Cook headed over to the first EEC Cars & Coffee of 2025 on a bright weekend morning and filed this report:

“Finally, my first outdoor automotive event of the season! Saturday was a bit chilly, but a great day. The event ran from 9-12 and was almost at capacity by 9 a.m. Although some didn't stay for the entire event, a steady stream of cars was still entering at 11. As always, there was an outstanding variety with something for just about everybody. Keep in mind that quite a few people in Michigan still have cars in storage in Michigan … but not for much longer! Take a look at some of the nice Fords I saw during my walk of the show field.”

As always, we chose our favorites for you to check out in Bill’s gallery below. Enjoy!
