THE VILLAGES, Fla. – If you take a short drive northeast from Orlando on a sunny Saturday, you just might find yourself in a town called The Villages in Central Florida where they’ll be hosting their monthly cruise-in on the second Saturday of the month. While the event isn’t Ford-specific, it does host certain weekends with Ford vehicles as the show’s main featured attraction. Back in March, the event hosted the Thunderbird Club of the Villages, whose members came out to proudly display their 1955-57 Ford Thunderbirds (known in the hobby as “Baby Birds”) along The Villages’ main boulevard in the Spanish Springs Town Square.
While this particular month’s show was seeking out first-gen Thunderbirds, it also attracted a variety of other classic and collectible Blue Oval vehicles. It was soon apparent that there were so many fine Fords of interest in attendance that we decided we’ll need to do a separate “Quick Look” on FordPerformance.com in the coming weeks to properly appreciate the quality rides there that were not wearing a Thunderbird badge. As is usually the case for automotive events in The Sunshine State, Jeff Burgy – our own Florida Ford super-enthusiast and SAAC-MCR Club founder – was on-site with his camera back in March to capture the experience there for you in photos, and sent us some of his favorites for us to share in his gallery below:
