PLYMOUTH, Mich. – For many enthusiasts, winter in the cold-weather states can feel like it lasts forever. So for those of you who wish you could attend an outdoor a car show this weekend instead of going out to scrape the ice off of your windshield or shovel snow from your driveway and sidewalks, we offer you this look back at a sunny weekend car show in July. It’s called “Bumpers, Bikes & Bands” and is held each year in Plymouth, Michigan, just outside of Detroit.
After more than 20 years, the event has now become a summer staple in the heart of Plymouth’s Historic Old Village, featuring – as its name suggests – classic and collectible cars, trucks, motorcycles and music, as well as food, prizes and fun for the whole family. Hosted by Plymouth’s Old Village Association, the show draws hundreds of locals, with dozens and dozens of unique vehicles, several food trucks and three different bands for a memorable day enjoying the music, food and all makes and models of transportation.
As you’d expect, there were plenty of Blue Oval rides on display at last summer’s Bumpers, Bikes and Bands show, and our roving Ford photojournalist was there with his camera to capture some of the action for us. We did our part to warm your enthusiast hearts by selecting our favorite photos from the shots that Mak had sent us and offering them for your viewing pleasure in our galley below. Enjoy:
