WHAT’S HAPPENING – If it seems like every Ford enthusiast you know is headed to the Carlisle Ford Nationals Carlisle Ford Nationals | Carlisle Events the weekend of June 6-8, there’s a good reason for that. It’s because Carlisle hosts the world’s largest all-Ford show, featuring nearly every Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and even Fords from all over the world on the nearly 3,500-vehicle show field for a three-day extravaganza in central Pennsylvania of all things related to the Blue Oval. As usual, all sorts of special events and attractions are planned this year, beyond seeing all the hottest new Ford products – even the Mustang GTD – and thousands of classic and collectible Fords on display. Those include commemorating 20 Years of the Ford GT, 70 years of the Ford Thunderbird, the 60th anniversary of the Shelby GT350 and the 25th anniversary of the North American MK1 Ford Focus, plus gatherings for Saleen Focus owners, Mercury Motorsports Capris, RTR vehicles and Ford Galaxies.
You can meet Ford Performance Chief Engineer Cal Widmann, Mustang Brand Manager Joe Bellino and Mustang GTD Program Manager Todd Valentine at the special Ford vehicle displays and walkarounds. “GT Joey” Limongelli is hosting a Who’s-Who of the Ford GT world with his event, featuring designer Camilo Pardo, chief engineer John Coletti, powertrain team leader Curt Hill, and product development VP Chris Theodore, as well as builder Steve Saleen, the “GT Guy” Rich Brooks, and Lee Holman of Holman Moody, the legendary builders of the GT40. You can get to watch RTR Formula Drift Pro Diver Ben Hobson, CJ Pony Parts’ own Morgan Drifts and FD Prospec Drifter Adam Heishman doing exhibitions, and visit with YouTubers “REVan” Evan Smith” plus John Clor and Mike Rey, who are hosting a live “Town Hall” recording session of their popular Mustang Owner’s Podcast right on the show field.
There’s also a Shelby vehicle unveiling, talks from authors Jerry Heasley and Charlie Morris, Monster Truck excitement with “Virginia Giant” -- and all the other great attractions such as the Pony Trails, Select Displays, Car Corral, Manufacturers Midway, the massive Flea Market and Vendors area, great food, the Women’s Oasis and even Kids Activities. And don’t forget the Club Challenge, the Coolest Club Hangout Award and the Club Mixer info-session hosted by Ford Performance Club Connect – plus the Celebrity Choice Awards, the Parade, Park & Party in Downtown Carlisle and of course Sunday’s big Carlisle Awards Presentations. Clearly, if there’s only one big Ford show you can attend this year, the Carlisle Ford Nationals is it. Ford Performance Club Connect will be there – and we hope you will, too!
