For many Ford fans, the true beginning of the Ford car show season is when the Ford Car Club Council, in conjunction with Ford Motor Company, sponsors its annual Fabulous Fords Forever show at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California each April. For 2018, the 33rd Annual “Fabulous Fords Forever!” show at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, CA, happens on Sunday, April 15.

Billed as “The West Coast’s Largest Ford Show,” this yearly one-day exhibition of fantastic Fords, Lincolns and Mercurys includes just about everything under the California sun, with 57 classes covering some 1,800 entries from 1903 through 2018. This year’s show is celebrating 115 years of the Ford Motor Company, 115 years of the Model T, 90 Years of the Model A, 70 years of the F-Series Truck, 60 years of the Edsel, and 50 years of the Cobra Jet! For a sample of what you can to expect, check out our exclusive coverage from last year’s show or even our reports from the year before and prior. The Fab Fords venue also features music, stage interviews, a great Ford display, show sponsors, celebrities and more – plus, spectators are admitted for free! It’s a can’t-miss auto extravaganza that you simply have to experience to appreciate. Visit the show site for more info, or click HERE to register.

Ford fans around the world will be celebrating “National Mustang Day” on April 17th, which is already a special day for Pony Car owners because it is the “official” birthdate of the Ford Mustang. Indeed, Mustang has been loved ever since it was first shown to the public at the 1964 New York World's Fair. Today, the goal of National Mustang Day is to unite all Mustang enthusiasts by having owners around the world drive their Mustang or hold a Mustang event on that day. So clean up or fix up your Mustang and take it out to work, play, show off, or simply cruise on Tuesday, April 17. Let the world see why we are all Mustang enthusiasts!

The weekend before the big day, the Mustang Owners Museum folks are planning a special set of events to commemorate the Mustang’s birthday down at the museum site in Charlotte, NC. For a full rundown of all the happenings planned there, check out this report from our friends at Mustang Monthly. We’ll see you there!

If you simply must get out and about this weekend of April 7th and a huge auction, outdoor swap, car corral and car show is more your thing, then check out the annual Charlotte Auto Fair Spring Meet April 5-8 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Click HERE for the latest info, and HERE to read about how much fun Team Mustang Girls has had covering that event for Ford Performance.

Are you planning to be in the Detroit area that same weekend instead? Then you should plan to see a special tribute going on at the Automotive Hall of Fame in Dearborn for the late Roy Lunn, known as the “Godfather of the Ford GT40.” During his 40-year automotive career, Lunn designed a prolific array of vehicles including postwar sports cars, radical concept cars and trucks, iconic racing machines, four-wheel-drive SUVs and even military transports. In 2016, he was inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame for his contributions to automobile engineering. The Roy Lunn exhibit at the AHoF in Dearborn runs through April 12, 2018. Click HERE for more info, or visit the Automotive Hall of Fame website for location and times.

No matter what you decide you’d like to do with your free time, the great thing about owning a performance Ford is that – unlike with buying one of those “appliances” from the other automakers – when you buy a Ford, you buy into an entire enthusiast world! That’s because Ford cars and trucks have the kind of personality and style that forges a personal connection with their owners, who in turn celebrate ownership each year at hundreds of enthusiast events all over the country.

Now’s the time for you to start planning to attend some of the big-name annual events that have already set dates for next year, so stay tuned to our “What’s Happening” section every week to catch the latest show news. We’ll tip you off about all the top-notch venues sponsored by various Ford enthusiast clubs in “Fast News” each week plus provide the best online coverage in our Enthusiasts Newsroom. There you’ll find the inside stories on Ford events and Ford club content that you can't find anywhere else on the Web. We do it because just like you, we’re driving Ford passion!
