TONS OF CLASSIC AND COLLECTIBLE FORDS CROSS THE BLOCK AT ANNUAL INDY AUCTION

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A few years ago, our resident Ford Performance photojournalist correspondent Bill Cook took a trip from the Detroit area to Indianapolis for a several-day visit with friends and sent us photos from some car-related activities that he took in while he was there. Cook, a Ford Marketing retiree and super-enthusiast who hunts down Ford-centric activity in the car hobby with camera in hand, enjoys getting reacquainted with Indy, as it’s a city he’d once lived in during his youth. Perhaps it’s not surprising that he times his occasional visits in May, so that he can catch the big annual auto auction at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Bill returned to Indy again this year and – you guessed it – he also spent time checking out the Spring Classic Collector Car Auction at the fairgrounds.

“This time around, the #1 seller was a $2.145 million (including the buyer's premium) 1966 Shelby Cobra 427,” Cook told us, noting there were again a few thousand cars going across the block that weekend – with many of them classic and collectible Fords. As we expected, Bill took literally hundreds of photos from the event. We sifted through his album of all the Ford products he photographed and selected some of our auction favorites with you in his photo gallery below:
