PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – After the start of every new year comes the latest rendition of the annual Philadelphia Auto Show in mid-January. Like most major auto shows, the show floor was bright and teeming with auto enthusiasts again this year, eager to get a glimpse at the shiny new vehicles offered for the latest model year. Ford stole the spotlight with no apologies and brought some of its heaviest hitters on the product side yet again. This time it was in the form of multiple new Broncos, F-150s, Super Duty’s, and of course the 2024 Mustang GT centerpiece. Ford also brought along a full-motion racing simulator! The massive triple-screen setup allowed auto show participants to show off their racing talent and compete for the fastest lap behind the wheel of a virtual Shelby GT500. The line was nearly 100 yards long all day.
The main attraction of this year’s show was without a doubt the indoor electric car test track. Ford, along with a few other companies, shared the test track area with their latest EV offerings. Going for a ride here was a perfect way for manufacturers to demonstrate the capabilities of their newest electric vehicles. Our Ford Performance correspondents were lucky enough to catch the line while it was short and got to ride in the 2024 F-150 Lightning. They said the acceleration of the Lightning was astonishing. Ford fans also got the choice to ride in the 2024 Mach E, which appeared to launch like a rocket ship at the 300-foot standing start “drag strip” section of the track.
Along with the major auto manufacturers, some owners in the tri-state area were also able to display their cars in the auto show as well. The Mustang and Ford enthusiast owner community showed up in full force with a wide variety of their own Blue Oval rides. Luckily for you, our young Ford Performance photographers, Joe Deladvitch and Sean Devine, were present to document and photograph their entire adventure at the 2024 Philadelphia Auto Show.
