AMELIA ISLAND, FL. – While some rain descended upon the Saturday morning “Cars and Community” events at The Amelia this year, a sun-filled blue sky greeted nearly 25,000 enthusiasts who gathered for luxury shopping, auctions, new vehicle reveals and experiential drives, exclusive gatherings and entertaining seminars at Sunday’s Concours d’Elegance, “The Amelia” is a multiple award-winning motoring event held each March in Florida at The Golf Club of Amelia Island and The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. The Amelia also honors a racing legend and attracts celebrities from across the automotive landscape every year. For Ford fans, the show always features Ford GT’s, Lincolns, early Fords and lots of Shelby Cobras and Mustangs.Ford GT

In an effort to preserve and expand American car culture, Hagerty’s investment in the event again this year was notable for its charitable giving and youth outreach – including the show’s “Cars & Community” and a curated Cars & Caffeine show on Saturday, as well as a Kids Zone, designed to reach hundreds of local high school and middle school students. Of course it is Sunday’s concours show that brings in auto journalists from across the globe and celebrates the best of the collector cars that come from all over the world to be judged. Our own photojournalist correspondent, SAAC-MCR co-founder and 289 FIA Cobra Replica owner Jeff Burgy, was on hand with his camera to capture some of the Fords he saw among the hundreds of cars that were on display that weekend.
