CARLISLE, Pa. – Although the annual Carlisle Ford Nationals show is billed as the largest all-Ford show in the world, it’s easy to see that the majority of the Fords on display that weekend happen to cover the six generations of Mustang – and for good reason. Mustang has been produced continuously since the 1965 model year with more than 10 million sold over its more than half-century of global popularity and recognition. As in years past, this huge yearly show has celebrated Ford vehicle anniversaries and milestones, and this year was no different. For 2022, Carlisle recognized the Special Service Package – or SSP -- Mustangs that have served police departments from around the country, and Shelby American celebrated its 60th Anniversary with a series of special events.
As you might expect, we found every sort of Mustang imaginable at the show, from 1965’s to the newest Mach 1s and everything in-between. In fact, it’s not a stretch to say that at the Carlisle Ford Nationals, you’ll find just about every variety of Ford Mustang that ever hit the production line. The veritable sea of Mustangs on display this year (as well as spectacular weather) was credited with helping this year’s Carlisle Ford Nationals draw a record number of show cars – just under 3,500 vehicles! Although each and every Mustang seen at Carlisle is worthy of recognition and deserves to be featured in this week’s Quick Look, here are just a few of the favorites that out Ford Performance photographers, Joe Deladvitch and Sean Devine, spotted at the Carlisle Fairgrounds and captured with their cameras. Enjoy!
