THE VILLAGES, Fla. – Every month in a small Florida town just a short drive northeast of Orlando, there’s a weekend cruise-in that has gained recognition across the state. While the event in the town called “The Villages” in Central Florida isn’t Ford-specific, it does host certain shows when Ford vehicles are featured as that weekend’s main attraction. Back in March, the event hosted the TrailBirds of Southwest Florida, whose members came out to proudly display their 1955-57 Ford Thunderbirds (known in the hobby as “Baby Birds”) along The Villages’ main boulevard in the Spanish Springs Town Square.
While the month’s event highlighted those first-gen Thunderbirds, it also attracted a variety of other Blue Oval vehicles, including Mustangs, pre-40’s Fords, some 50’s classics and even a few Shelby Cobras – all adding to the group of fine Fords on display at the show.
