NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. – While cruisers who live in the northern states typically have their rides tucked away for the winter, those in the southern states have the privilege of show-hopping all year round. This is exactly why the East Coast Cruisers can host a recurring car show in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, every second Saturday of each month. These regular cruise-ins draw anywhere from 200 to 500 vehicles of all makes and models and take place from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. to experience the best part of the evening in sunny Florida weather.
The Canal Street Cruise takes place in the community situated just south of Daytona Beach, Florida, and is hosted in a historic part of that town on -- you guessed it -- Canal Street. During the event, vehicles line the street as well as cruise up and down the strip for owners to show off their prized possessions. We spotted plenty of Fords there, from an S550 ROUSH Performance Mustang to modified street-rod Model T’s. The locale is also host to many shopping venues, eateries, and things do, which makes this an event for the entire family. Ford Performance enthusiast and SAAC-MCR club founder Jeff Burgy includes attending these events during his yearly time in the Sunshine State, and graciously shares his photos of some of the Fords he found at a recent cruise-in in his gallery below:
