GRAND LEGDE, MI – As every car cub member knows, nearly all enthusiast clubs host their own, big annual car show. For the club known as Capital Area Mustangs from the Lansing, Michigan, area, an all-Ford car show called the “Blue Oval Blast” has been held every August for the past 22 years, and it’s easy to see why the show has been so successful for so long.
Although the club is primarily made up of Ford Mustang owners, its yearly show is open to any and all Ford and Ford-powered vehicles. We spotted everything from a Ford GT40 to a resto-modded Thunderbird boasting a freshly swapped Coyote V-8, to a classic 1969 Shelby GT500 and even a few early Broncos. We set up our Ford Performance Meet & Greet display tent during the show and gave away Mustang Bullitt and GT350 posters all day and talked cars with attendees; the club provided a DJ who was rockin’ out classic tunes, plus door prizes, a 50-50 raffle, root beer floats, and lots more.
For those who weren’t able to attend this year’s Blast at picturesque Fitzgerald Park in Grand Ledge, Michigan, we took a stroll around the large, grassy show field and took photos of some of our favorite Ford rides on display there to share with you below:
