BAY CITY, Mich. – Back in June of 1995, Downtown Bay City saw the birth of what would become one of central Michigan’s largest car shows. It has since evolved and grown over the years while overcoming a few name and location changes. Starting with just 25 vehicles and a few passers-by during that inaugural show in ’95, this event now draws more than 500 registered vehicles and tens of thousands of people who come to check out all the cool rides.
One of the main goals of today’s “Cool City Car Show” in Bay City, Michigan, is to raise money for the American Cancer Society; the event has donated some $250,000 in the past 24 years.
Ford Performance had set up our Meet & Greet tent at this annual two-day Cruise and Show before, and handed out hundreds of Mustang posters to attendees. This past July 13, Ford Performance was asked to return to the Saturday show, and this time set up shop right next to our friends in the Mustang Club of Mid-Michigan, whose members staked claim to a large parking area downtown. With the skies clear and only slight breeze, the 2019 edition of the show turned out to be one for the books. While we don’t have an exact count of how much the event raised or the attendance, regulars said the numbers were up, and our plentiful supply of free posters didn’t last long as long as we expected. We managed to sneak away from the tent long enough to take some photos of the Fords in the show to share with you here:
