LEGENDARY FORD RACE CARS HELP POWER NEW ‘SONOMA SPEED FEST’

QL-Sonoma-Speed-Fest-17

SONOMA, Calif. – There’s something special about watching and hearing vintage race cars being driven at full speed on a race track, and that’s exactly what an all-new enthusiast event in Northern California is all about. The inaugural Sonoma Speed Festival was created to celebrate the history of these classic racers by inviting them out to the famed Sonoma Raceway in California’s wine country for a 4-day extended weekend of classic racing and motorsports history. Among the track-focused vehicles you’ll find race prepped Shelby GT350s and Cobras, and more than a few Boss 302 Mustangs. You’ll also see vintage dragsters, race car concepts and prototypes and other historical motorsports exhibits. For a day-pass fee of $95, event goers got to witness some of the greatest vehicles from the “golden days” of racing history run flat-out in wheel-to-wheel competition. Fans also got to attend Q&A sessions with the drivers, and the chance to ride along for exhibition laps. Ford marketing retiree-turned FordPerformance.com correspondent Bill Cook attended this event with his family this past June and shared the photos of the historic event with us below:
