Birmingham, Mich. – If you’re a automotive enthusiast and a resident of Metro Detroit, there is never an excuse to be bored on weekends. That’s because there are always a good number of “Cars & Coffee” events all across the region to attend where you can get a free cup of caffeine and check out all kinds of chrome. One of the most notable and well-known of such events happens at Pasteiner’s AutoZone, which hosts its “Parking at Pasteiner’s” Cars & Coffee ritual each weekend.
Pasteiner’s has been a landmark right along famed Woodward Avenue just north of Detroit in Birmingham, Michigan, for over 30 years. Their store sells all sorts of automotive collectibles, including car magazines and books, die casts and model cars, as well as unique items that cannot be found anywhere else.
Pasteiner’s hosts its Cars & Coffee every Saturday morning from 8-10 a.m., dependent on the unpredictable Michigan weather. Since this meet-up happens year-round, it sometimes means attendees must brave chilly temps or cloudy skies to bring their prized possessions out for some tire-kicking and car talk. Lucky for us, Ford retiree and super fan Bill Cook attended one of the Parking at Pasteiner’s gatherings back in early May and snapped these photos for us to share:
