DEARBORN - Just because the kids are back to school doesn’t mean your car show getaway weekends have to end just yet. In fact, there’s a whole bumper crop of Mustang club-organized car shows planned for the September 16-17 weekend, so saddle up!
If you head to Oak Ridge, Tennessee, you can catch the First Annual Smoky Mountain Mustang Club Mustang Regional Show at Roane State Community College in Oak Ridge, hosted by the Smoky Mountain Mustang Club. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Smoky Mountain Lions Charities, Inc. Over in Ashland, Virginia, there’s the The 33rd Annual Mustang and Ford Show being held at Bass Pro Shops in Ashland, thanks to the efforts of our friends in the Central Virginia Mustang Club. This show will benefit VCU Feed More. Down in Bossier City, Louisiana, you’ll find the RRCMC 24th Annual Roundup at Wray Ford in Bossier City, put on by the Red River Classic Mustang Club. All proceeds to benefit local children's charities. And in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, there’s the GCCM 38th Annual Round Up at Broken Arrow Event Park in Broken Arrow, all thanks to Green Country Classic Mustangs. Ford Performance plans to attend the Fabulous Fall Ford Show at Murray Motors in Muncy, Pennsylvania, where we’ll be hosting a Free Shelby GT350 Poster Giveaway for our friends in the North Central Mustang Club of Pennsylvania. But if Sunday, September 17th is your only day to get away that weekend, you can still find us – this time over on Long Island, New York. There, Ford Performance will make an appearance at the 7th Annual New York AutoFest Hicksville Fire Dept. Hose Co4 Car Show and BBQ Cook Off Competition. Wow – that’s a mouthful! But so is a FREE lunch offered to the drivers of the first 100 registered vehicles to appear at the Sears parking lot in Hicksville, NY. There are awards in 40 judged classes, including “Best in Show” as well as other special awards. Plus there’s live music, great food, vendors, a craft fair, door prizes and a 50/50 drawing. If you can’t make it, then how about getting to Sussex, New Jersey for the End of Summer Car Show at Magarino Ford in Sussex, presented by the Garden State Region Mustang Club? This show is benefiting Toys for Tots. In any of the above, you’re sure to see fine cars and good people having fun with their Fords.
