CLASSIC CAR AND BIG-FINS FANS HEAD ‘BACK TO THE ’50’s’ JUNE 23-25

Back to the 50's

DEARBORN - Ever wish you could just head “Back To The ’50’s” to get your car fix? We do, too, and that’s why you’ll find the Ford Performance events trailer at the big annual show with same that name outside Minneapolis. This year’s nostalgia weekend is set for June 23-25 and is again sponsored by the Minnesota Street Rod Association and held at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in Saint Paul. Look for Ford Performance nestled among the 12,000-plus show car entries!

If you missed the Detroit stop on the Cougar Club of America’s (CCOA) half-dozen event nationwide tour celebrating the Mercury Cougar’s 50th Anniversary, don’t fret. The tour rolls in to Cypress, California for the June 23-24 weekend as part of the CCOA Western Nationals. Yes, the Cougar Club of America is now among the group of Ford Performance enthusiast clubs being promoted on FordPerformance.com. If you or anyone you know is a fan of the Mercury pony-cars, you won’t want to miss this show!

If more traditional Mustang and Ford shows are more your preference, there’s a few you need to know about. One is the “Hot Summer Days Car Show” set for June 24 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, presented by our friends in the Oklahoma Mustang Club. Another would be the “10th Annual Mustang and All Ford Show” that same Saturday at Lakota West High School in West Chester, Ohio, thanks to the efforts of the Queen City Mustangers.

If Sunday June 25th is your only day to play that weekend, you can head to the Eastern Hills Mall in Williamsville, New York, where the Western New York Shelby and Mustang Club is hosting the “41st Annual All Fords Day and MCA Regional Mustang Show.” Or if your travels have you out in Danville, California, that day, drive up to the Danville Livery, where the Bay Area Mustang Association will be presenting “Ponies and Snakes 2017.” We covered last year’s Ponies and Snakes show and can tell you that you’re sure to enjoy it.

The great thing about owning a performance Ford is that – unlike with buying one of those “appliances” from the other automakers – when you buy a Ford, you buy into an entire enthusiast world! Ford cars and trucks have the kind of personality and style that forges a personal connection with their owners, who in turn celebrate ownership each year at hundreds of enthusiast events all over the country. Now’s the time for you to start planning to attend some of the big-name annual events that have already set dates for next year. Here’s our own “Top-10 List” of the biggest “can’t-miss” Ford-based shows for 2017:

August 19: Mustang Alley @ Woodward Dream Cruise (Ferndale, MI); August 20: “Mustang Memories” MOCSEM Show @ Ford WHQ (Dearborn, MI); August 24-27: MCA Grand National (Overland Park, KS); Aug. 29-Sept. 3: Sturgis Mustang Rally (Sturgis, SD) and; September 4-10: Mustang Week (Myrtle Beach, SC).

And there are many more great shows coast-to-coast, as big events are also being planned for the American Muscle annual Mustang show on August 12, plus plenty of other top-notch venues sponsored by various Ford enthusiast clubs! We’ll get you all the details in “Fast News” each week plus provide the best coverage in our Enthusiasts Newsroom because like you, we’re driving Ford passion!
