LAS VEGAS, NV – Most enthusiasts have heard of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show that takes place in Las Vegas each November, but too few get the chance to experience what it’s really all about. SEMA’s purpose, as a professional trade association, is to support the needs and growth of the automotive aftermarket industry; this encompasses everything from high performance parts, wheels, tires, and go-fast goodies to replacement parts, bodyshop equipment and tools.
This year marked the 50th edition of the SEMA show, and our own roving photographer, Bill Cook, headed west to get an insider’s look at the annual extravaganza. He was able to gather photos and videos of the dominant “Ford Out Front” displays and live events, as well as all the happenings inside in and around the Ford booth.
Cook lives in Rochester, Michigan, and grew up in a Ford family, with his Dad working at Ford Division Marketing and Sales. Throughout his own long Ford marketing career, Bill was well-known within the company as an active enthusiast and club member who could always be counted upon to show off photos of the many car shows and events that he attends. In retirement, it is no different. That’s why we weren’t surprised when Bill sent us his mega-gallery and video clips from his time at SEMA 2016. He has graciously agreed to share his event coverage with all of us here on FordPerformance.com:
