Thanks to the many submissions Ford owners have sent to us for our Fan Spotlight over the years, we’ve shared the classic “Boy Meets Mustang,” Boy Loses Mustang,” and “Boy Gets Mustang Back” stories with you many times before. But Mitch Balcom up in Canada has added the next chapter to his Mustang story that puts a new spin on Mustang’s version of that tried-and-true Hollywood romance movie theme. Read his note to us below to see how Mitch’s life script now reads like, “Boy Meets Mustang,” “Boy Meets Mustang Girl,” and “Boy Marries Mustang Girl.” It’s our belated Valentine’s present to Mustang lovers everywhere:

“Hello Ford Performance! My name is Mitch Balcom. I’m a parts man for the biggest Ford dealership in Canada -- Windsor Ford, located in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada. If my name sounds familiar, it’s because you have featured me in your Fan Spotlight before.

However I would like to update you all on an awesome event in my life that I thought you would enjoy hearing about.Front of silver Mustang GT driving on the road

“I currently own a 2015 Mustang GT, upgraded with lots of goodies including cams, nitrous and a voodoo intake manifold. Just this past year I got engaged to my beautiful now-wife, Megan. She has always been a big supporter of me being a car enthusiast, and she partakes in all of my car adventures with me.

“When I knew she was the right girl for me, I rounded up a bunch of local Mustang friends for a ‘photo shoot’ She had no idea what I had planned when I asked her to come over to the car while photos were being taken -- where I reached for the ring and popped the question.Mitch and Megan hugging in parking lot of various MustangsMitch proposing to Megan in parking lot of various Ford Mustangs

“It was only a few weeks later when we tied the knot -- and of course we had to get a classic 1968 Mustang involved in our wedding photos. Ford has always been a big part of our life and we can't wait for the next adventures that Ford vehicles will take us on in the future. How YOU can Get In The Spotlight: For the past decade, one of the most popular features on FordPerformance.com and in our weekly Fast News e-newsletter continues to be "Ford Fan Spotlight," where readers can send in their own reasons why they're fans of Ford Motor Company and its vehicles. You know who they are: Ford "superfans;" grassroots Ford racers; unique Ford vehicle owners; loyal Ford enthusiasts; notable Ford club people; special Ford families; and/or any avid supporter of Ford, Ford vehicles, Ford motorsports or Ford Performance who deserves a little bit of special recognition.

All you need to do to get you, your car or candidate considered is to send in a brief description (200-500 words or less) and a few photos (in .jpeg format, preferably around 1 mb in size) with the owner’s full name and hometown, please. Just tell us about the vehicle(s) and why you think Ford Performance should feature it (them) in the "Ford Fan Spotlight" for an upcoming installment of Fast News as well as for posting on FordPerformance.com. Then email it to:
ClubHub@Ford.com with your contact info. Should you wish to send a video, you simply need to post it on www.YouTube.com (preferably 1-2 minutes long) and send in the link, along with a brief description, to that same ClubHub@Ford.com email address. We'll choose one submission each week. We hope to see YOU and your Ford in our Spotlight soon!
