You’ll recall that about a month ago we shared a great story about 75-year-old Marc Covington, who has owned 24 different Fords to date. Well, in the spirit of one-upmanship, that Fan Spotlight submission had soon netted the following email from Chicago’s Jeff Francisco, who dropped us the note below to list his lifetime of Ford vehicle ownership, which has now reached 25. If you’ve had 26 or more different Fords over the years, keep the emails coming!

“Hello Ford Performance! “I’m Jeff Francisco and read your recent Fan Spotlight on Marc Covington and the 24 different Ford-built vehicles he’s owned in his lifetime. I share his passion for Fords. As a fellow Ford fan, the following is a list of Fords that I have owned since 1977:

“A 1968 Ford Custom (4-door w-302 & C-6); 1970 Ford Torino GT (351 & 4-speed); 1971 Ford Ranchero (302 & 3-speed); 1967 Mercury Monterey (2-door Fastback w-390 & C-6);
1969 Mercury Cougar XR-7 (351 & automatic); 1966 Ford  F-100 pickup (300 cid I-6 & 3-speed); 1997 F-350 CrewCab 4x4 (8-foot box, w-7.3L TurboDiesel that I STILL OWN); a 1973 Mercury Marquis 4-door (w-460 & C-6); and a 1977 Ford LTD II Sport (w-351 & C-4).

“I’ve also had a 1980 Mercury Capri (w-2300cc I-4 & 4-speed); 1972 Ford Torino Station Wagon (w-351 & C-4); 1978 Ford LTD II Police Interceptor (w-400 & C-4); a 1979 Ford Fairmont (w-2.3L Inline four and a 4-speed, then swapped to a 289 V-8 & a C-4); 1977 Lincoln Town Car (w-400 & C-6); and a 1979 Mercury Marquis 4-door (w-351 & AOD – a California car!); 1989 Ford Aerostar (w-3.0L V-6 & automatic); and a 1990 Ford Crown Vic (w-302 & AOD).

“Then there’s my 1997 Ford Expedition XLT 4x4 (w-5.4L & automatic); a 1980 Ford Fairmont 4-door (w-3.3L inline six & C-4 that I STILL OWN); plus 1976 Ford Pinto (w-351W V-8 & 4-speed.); 2013 Ford Taurus SHO (w-3.5L V-6 & automatic that I STILL OWN); and a 2016 Ford Expedition EL (w-3.5L V-6 & automatic that I STILL OWN); 1978 Ford Fairmont Station Wagon (w-255 & automatic); 1987 Ford Mustang LX (w-302 & 5-speed); and finally a 1996 Ford Mustang GT Convertible (w-4.6L V-8 and an AOD).Front of a light blue Fairmont Station Wagon in the driveway

“I admit this collection is no competition for Covington's 24 great Fords, but everything listed here has dealt with Chicago weather. I used to work for Ford and still buy them! Thanks for sharing my Ford story - Cheers!”

How YOU can Get In The Spotlight:
For the past decade, one of the most popular features on FordPerformance.com and in our weekly Fast News e-newsletter continues to be "Ford Fan Spotlight," where readers can send in their own reasons why they're fans of Ford Motor Company and its vehicles. You know who they are: Ford "superfans;" grassroots Ford racers; unique Ford vehicle owners; loyal Ford enthusiasts; notable Ford club people; special Ford families; and/or any avid supporter of Ford, Ford vehicles, Ford motorsports or Ford Performance who deserves a little bit of special recognition.

All you need to do to get you, your car or candidate considered is to send in a brief description (200-500 words or less) and a few photos (in .jpg format,) with the owner’s full name and hometown, please. Just tell us about the vehicle(s) and why you think Ford Performance should feature it (them) in the "Ford Fan Spotlight" for an upcoming installment of Fast News as well as for posting on FordPerformance.com. Then email it to:
ClubHub@Ford.com with your contact info. Should you wish to send a video, you simply need to post it on www.YouTube.com (preferably 1-2 minutes long) and send in the link, along with a brief description, to that same ClubHub@Ford.com email address. We'll choose one submission each week. We hope to see YOU and your Ford in our Spotlight soon!
