AUSTRALIA - Ford of Australia powered through The Bend in dominant fashion over Mother's Day weekend, sweeping all three races of the Repco Supercars Championship OTR SuperSprint with three different teams and drivers, earning a few benchmarks along the way.
In Race 9, the first in the OTR SuperSprint, Kelly Grove Racing's Andre Heimgartner had a stellar drive all the way to his maiden victory in Supercars, picking up Ford's 399 win in the series and bringing Ford Mustang's total to 38 top spots.
Race 10 saw Shell V-Power Racing back on top as Anton De Pasquale and Will Davison finished 1-2. De Pasquale's win was from the pole, though Davison assisted by holding off a charging Shane Van Gisbergen, relegating the points leader to the bottom step of the podium. The victory was a landmark 400th race win for Ford since the Supercars Championship began in 1960.
For Race 11, it was Tickford Racing's turn to stand above the rest, with Cameron Waters surging to the checkered flag to pick up Mustang's 40th Supercars win and complete the impressive weekend sweep for Ford.
Three races, three wins, three different drivers, three different teams, two benchmarks met. Well done indeed.
The next race on the schedule takes the series to Winton on May 28-30.
