We all know that being a mom is hard work. So it should be no surprise that after Barbara Mullins of Auburn, Georgia, raised her two boys, she got tired of driving boring family haulers and wanted something more rewarding and enjoyable. And “enjoyable” is exactly how’d we’d describe the email that we received from Barb about her purchase of a brand-new Mustang Mach 1. Read it below and you’ll see why we couldn’t help but smile along with her:
“Hi, Ford Performance! I just wanted to drop a quick note to say THANK YOU to Ford and the design team responsible for the 2021 Mustang Mach 1. I’ve had many expensive and (very) nice cars over the years, but I have to say that I’ve never experienced anything like this. Beyond the car itself, the invitation to the Ford Performance Driving School in North Carolina and then receiving a collectible “transmission & gears” gift set was just over the top!
“I’m 42 years old with two grown boys, and after driving mostly ‘mom-mobiles’ for 20 years, I decided it was time for something fun to drive – and it had to be a manual!. My oldest son had recently gotten a 2020 Mustang 5.0 GT, and that car got me looking at the Mustangs. I liked his, but honestly I didn’t want to drive what everyone else was driving (as nice as they are). But then I saw a new Mach 1 while I was just looking around on Akins Ford website.
“The ‘Fighter Jet Gray’ color caught my eye in an instant. I didn’t exactly know what I was looking at, but for some reason it drew me in. I watched that car for a month. I scoured the internet and watched YouTube videos for anything and everything related to the new Mach 1. The more I watched and learned, the more I liked it. Finally, a month later I had to go see it in person. The team at Akins had it show-ready for me when I arrived, and I fell in love. From the test-drive’s first up-shift to the final parking brake pull, I HAD TO HAVE IT! It was love at first sight.
“Fast forward several months and now the feeling is so much more. I’ve never considered myself a Mustang fan, but I am now. All the reviews and videos I see are from men (which I understand), but I want anyone who’ll listen to know that this new Mustang Mach 1 is for a woman, too!
Lastly, thank you again so much for the little gifts I’ve been getting from Ford for buying may Mach 1. You guys have no idea how happy that makes us -- Ha-ha, or maybe you do!. I’ve included a couple of pictures with my email so that you can see the smile you’ve brought to me with the Mach 1. Thanks, Ford, for this beautiful car. I promise to take care of her and keep her spotless always!”
