Not Been To An Event Yet? Like Dennis Healy, Make Your Own Tabletop Show

1:25 Model Scale mustangs setup in car show

With so many local and national car shows cancelled last year due to the pandemic, very few fans were able to get out to see their favorite Fords at any sort of event. While we were able to host a Ford Performance Virtual Car Show during that time to allow our readers to see some of your fine Fords online from the comfort of their own homes, we quickly realized that our younger enthusiasts and all of those who may not yet own a collectible full-size Ford were left out. So Ford Performance decided to come up with a way for you to host your very own Mustang and Ford car show, no matter what you have in your garage or where you might live. Ever since we introduced our “Ford Performance Tabletop Car Show” in the Quick Look section of FordPerformance.com last year, enthusiasts of all ages and from all over the world have been sending in photos of their collections of small-scale Fords for everyone to enjoy.overview of table top car show with service station

So how does it work? Simply gather up your favorite assortment of Ford scale-model vehicles no matter what the size and arrange them in parking-lot car show order on a tabletop or other setting, then photograph them. That’s exactly what Ford club superfan Dennis Healy did. Healy is no stranger to the Enthusiasts section of FordPerformance.com. (Just get on our site and search for his name to see what we mean!) To make up for the lack of shows to attend this past winter, Dennis set up his own car show in a spare room of his home. Check out Healy’s dealership car show recreation below, then consider sending us your own Ford Performance Tabletop Car Show, along with photos, your name, hometown and a brief description of your collection to: ClubHub@Ford.com. We hope to hear from you soon!Close up of service station with two vehicles in front

“Hello Ford Performance! It’s me, Dennis Healy from Hicksville, NY. I’m a member of both the Mustang & Shelby Club of Long Island and the Mustang Club of America. I heard about the Ford Performance Tabletop Car Show while at last year’s Carlisle Ford Nationals while talking to your enthusiast communications manager, John Clor.Close up with cobra and S550 Models

“Since both of my club’s dealer shows on Long Island were cancelled due to COVID last season, I got the idea to create my own dealer show as I drove home from Carlisle, PA. Lucky for me I had received a ceramic Ford dealership years ago as a Christmas present, so that was to be the anchor of my tabletop show.  Then, using some arts and craft items, I created the dealer lot – parking lot, sidewalks, driveway and fencing. I even printed out some Ford Performance images to apply to the popsicle-stick fence, just like the banners I saw at Carlisle.overview from opposite side of table with 20-30 vehicle lined up

“I have been collecting diecast cars since my childhood and just about every scale is represented, with the focus being on Mustangs and Fords. Since the Ford dealership was 1:43 scale, that meant pulling a variety of Ford diecast cars from that part my collection. This way, the show would be just like our typical dealer shows as all Ford-powered vehicles are eligible. Luckily, I had a Mustang from every generation in this scale, including the Mustang II – the Mustang that is never found at one of our real shows.Row of model cars lined up for car show

“I set up my show field the same way my club does at a dealership. The Mustangs were arranged by year from the earliest to the newest, with the other Fords grouped together. That last group included some T-Birds, a Cougar, a Maverick and even an LTD Country Squire. The only thing missing from this miniature show were the crowds, owner judging and the award ceremony.Model Fords backed up to edge of show

“My name may be familiar to Fast News readers as I have had two of my Mustangs featured in the Ford Fan Spotlight section – my 2018 EcoBoost Premium Coupe in Royal Crimson, and my 2019 GT/California Special Convertible in Kona Blue that I won in the Ford Motorcraft 5.0 Fever Sweepstakes. In addition to these Mustangs, I also own a 1980 Ghia Hatchback that I purchased new in May 1980 and was my daily driver for 18 years, and a 1990 7-Up Convertible purchased new in September 1990 that is an MCA Blue Medallion winner in the Unrestored class. My daily driver has been a 1998 Eddie Bauer Explorer that has served me well the past 22 years -- but I have just replaced it with a new 2021 Mustang Mach-E Ford Edition! I hope you feature that someday as well!”Ariel photo of model car show
