MILAN, Mich. – Mention Milan, Michigan, to an enthusiast from the Midwest, and they’ll likely know it for the top-notch dragstrip there that draws thousands of race fans from miles around each year. Indeed, Milan is a small town with a big love for cars and racing. One local club called The Backstreet Cruizers has been hosting a superb car show in Milan for the last 16 years. The club started from a group of friends going to car shows together until one day one of them suggested they should simply form a club. This year, the Cruizers held their show during the 21^st Annual Milan Car Fest, which took place on August 5^th in Milan’s Wilson Memorial Park. The big show included 12 classes which ranged from pre-1949 to the present. In addition to helping to host the show, the club put together a silent auction in an effort to raise money for the Ann Arbor (Michigan) Veterans Hospital. The Backstreet Cruizers also host a weekly Lakeside Cruise-In on Thursday nights at the park all summer long through late August.
