#77 Ben Barker

Barker
Mustang GT3 On Track

British racing driver, Ben Barker, won his first championship title on the other side of the world, in Australia. After competing in the British Formula Ford Championship in 2009, he managed to side-step the big budgets required for Formula 3 in Europe by heading Down Under. It proved to be a wise move as in 2010 he became the Australian Formula 3 Champion, by one point, which he took on the last lap of the final race by setting the fastest lap time!

Barker remained in Australia for 2011 after receiving sponsorship support, which took him into Porsche Carrera Cup Australia. Upon his return to the UK, he took part in the British version of Carrera Cup, finishing as Championship runner-up in 2012.

He wasn’t done with Australia though and in 2014 he entered the world-famous Bathurst 12 Hour race and took a class win. He now has four class victories at Bathurst under his belt after winning again in 2018, 2019 and 2020.

Barker is well-known for being a key figure in the FIA World Endurance Championship’s (WEC) GTE Am class where he has raced with non-professional team mates for many years. His first entry in the 24 Hours of Le Mans was in 2016 and he hasn’t missed a year since then. In 2023, he combined another full season in WEC with a GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup campaign with Dinamic GT.

Announced as a Ford sports car factory driver in December 2023, Barker will race the #77 Proton Competition Ford Mustang GT3 in the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship.
