Christopher Mies caught the racing bug the first time he drove a Go Kart as a 10-year-old boy, growing up in a small town near Dusseldorf in Germany. While karting had to remain a hobby, he managed to find the budget to race cars as a teenager and it wasn’t long before he took his first title, in the 2007 Ford Fiesta ST Cup!

Portrait of Christopher Mies

Mies is a real asset to the Ford Mustang GT3 programme after spending much of his racing career with Audi Sport where he achieved great success on the track, starting in his first season with the German marque when he won the 2009 FIA GT3 European Championship.

It was in 2009 that Mies had his first taste of the Nürburgring 24 Hours, an endurance race that is only for the bold and the brave. He finished the race in a commendable fourth place overall.

He joined the ADAC GT Masters Championship in 2010, a series that would prove to be a happy hunting ground as he took numerous race wins, ultimately winning the title in both 2016 and 2021.

Mies is a consecutive winner of the Bathurst 12 Hour race, finishing first in 2011 and 2012. It was in 2012 that he also became a Blancpain Endurance Series (now known as GT World Challenge Europe) Champion.

In 2015, his breakthrough win came at the Nürburgring 24 Hours, followed up by another win of one of the world’s toughest endurance races in 2017.

Mies has enjoyed a stellar career so far, boasting victories across multiple series, from the Nürburgring to Bathurst, to the Dubai 24 Hours.

Now it’s time to do it all again, this time with Ford.
