TROY, Mich. - Detroit is well known as The Motor City, and reasons for that can be found all around the state. With so many automaker headquarters, auto factories and auto supplier businesses in and around Southeastern Michigan, it’s no wonder so many people celebrate classic car ownership by attending cruise-ins and shows all summer long. One fine example of this can be found just 30 minutes north of Detroit in Troy, Michigan, where a fun-filled family-oriented car show has been a staple in the community for more than a dozen years now.

The Troy Historic Village has hosted the all-make, all-models family-friendly show at the town’s Columbia Center, and this year’s 12^th Annual “Troy Traffic Jam” car show drew more than 300 classic, muscle and vintage rides, with a good number of them bearing the Blue Oval. The local first responders also played a part in this year’s show by giving kids an up-close-and-personal look at their emergency vehicles, including police cars, an ambulance and a full-size fire truck. (Our favorite was a vintage Ford with a 1999-2004 SVT F-150 Lightning supercharged V-8 stuffed in it, which was owned by the Troy Police Department.)

Beyond the all the cars, there were multiple automotive vendors and activities, local radio stations broadcasting live, and of course the food tent! Smiles could be found everywhere as hundreds of people spent the day touring the show field. Ford Marketing retiree and super enthusiast Bill Cook, who catches as many cars shows in the region as possible with camera in hand, submitted quite the photo gallery from this show.
