SANTA MONICA, Cali. – The LA Chapter of the Shelby American Automobile Club (LASAAC), held its annual car show in lovely Marina Del Rey, California, this year, with all 1967 Shelby Mustang being featured. Dubbed the “13th Annual Tony Sousa Memorial Car Show,” the event was held on Saturday, September 16th, with a Friday night get-together that had Rich McDonald, son of the late, great Dave McDonald, as Guest of Honor. After the welcome dinner, Rich McDonald gave a presentation on his father, from his early Corvette days through the Shelby American glory years.
At the show the next day in the seaside community just outside of Santa Monica, comedian and former late-night TV talk-show host Jay Leno made a surprise appearance, bringing his new Ford GT and drawing a huge crowd. Rich Tweedle, the longstanding membership and communications director for SAAC-MCR, attended the show and took photos of the event, and was kind enough to share some his pics with us in the gallery below:
