Michael McDowell returns to Ford in 2018 as a teammate to David Ragan at Front Row Motorsports.
This marks the second time McDowell will be part of the Ford Performance family after he drove parts of four straight seasons (2012-15) with car owners Phil Parsons, Mike Curb and Leavine Family Racing. During that period, he made 97 starts in a Fusion with his best finish coming at Daytona in July 2014 (7th).
McDowell is coming off a season in which he ran all 36 races for the first time in his career. He registered a career-best fourth-place finish in the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway and finished a career-best 26th in the final point standings.
- McDowell made his Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series debut with Michael Waltrip Racing in 2008 at Martinsville Speedway and finished 26th.
- Recorded his first national series victory in 2016 when he won the NASCAR XFINITY Series road course event at Road America for car owner Richard Childress.
- Finished second to Frank Kimmel in the 2007 ARCA standings after winning four times in 23 races and capturing Rookie of the Year honors.
