Top-10 Finishes by Buescher & Harvick at Dover

Buescher Mustang on the track

DOVER, Del. - A pair of Mustangs,  finished inside the top-10, in a rain-delayed race at Dover Motor Speedway Monday afternoon, won by Chevy’s Chase Elliott.

Buescher, who started on the pole, showed the most consistent speed of the Blue Ovals throughout the day, finishing inside the top-10 in each stage. Harvick drove his way up through the field to a ninth-place effort, his fifth top-10 of the season.

Chase Briscoe (13th) and Cole Custer (15th) rounded out the Mustangs inside the top-15.

Ryan Blaney used pit strategy to gather the Stage 2 win, his fourth stage victory of the season before falling back in the field over the final stage and finishing XXth. His Team Penske teammates Austin Cindric and Joey Logano both ran into trouble with contact on the track and finished 36th and 29th.

The race began Sunday, and the field ran 78 laps before persistent afternoon rain forced the race to a Monday finish.

The Cup Series’ next race is the Goodyear 400, scheduled for Sunday (3:30 p.m. ET, FS1, MRN, SiriusXM) at Darlington Raceway. All three national series will be in action during the annual NASCAR Throwback Weekend festivities.

Chris Buescher, No. 17 Fastenal Ford Mustang -- Finished 8th
“It was an interesting two days. It was a good run for the Fastenal Mustang. Everyone on the team worked really hard and did a nice job. It is a momentum builder. It isn’t all that we wanted but the pole was awesome, that was really cool. I know we had speed in it in clean air. We just fought dirty air. Unfortunately, that is a really big deal here. We could move around for a little bit and the tires would fall off, which is great, but once we got to the point where we had to kind of stay in line we were just sucking up dirty air which made it hard. We want more. I am not content there but it is a strong run for us and I am excited to head into Darlington.”

Kevin Harvick, No. 4 Hunt Brothers Pizza Ford Mustang -- Finished 9th
“We just lost the car right there at the end of the second stage and it was plowing tight. We never really were able to find anything to make it any better. I am not sure what happened. We will try to figure that out and go back to work for Darlington next weekend.”
