DEARBORN - It was a sunny day in Dallas, TX when Kurt Busch arrived at the Gas Monkey Garage to create his dream car, a Ford Performance powered 1972 Pantera. With only 7,000 cars manufactured, the Pantera has become a fan favorite among Ford collectors and caught the eye of NASCAR Cup champion Kurt Busch.
Built in the Gas Monkey Garage and tested at the Kurt Busch Institute in North Carolina, the 1972 Pantera will feature a Ford Performance 5.0 Coyote Aluminator crate engine and a Cobra Jet intake manifold creating a one-of-a-kind racing machine.
Kurt Busch and co. didn't stop there as they threw down the gauntlent to fellow Ford Performance NASCAR driver Joey Logano and challenged him to a race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in his Coyote powered custom Ford Gen 3 Type 65 Coupe-R.
