This will mark Clint Bowyer’s 13th season driving in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and there’s only one thing on his mind – winning.
After joining Stewart-Haas Racing and Ford last year as driver of the No. 14 Fusion, Bowyer re-established himself as a threat to win on any given weekend. Even though he didn’t visit Victory Lane, he finished second three times and ended up posting six top-5 and 13 top-10 efforts in 36 starts.
Before making the move to SHR, Bowyer drove one season for HScott Motorsports. That followed a four-year stint at Michael Waltrip Racing (2012-15) and eight seasons with Richard Childress Racing (2004-11).
Bowyer owns eight Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series victories with his best season coming in 2012 when he won a career-best three events and finished second in the point standings behind champion Brad Keselowski.
He emerged on the NASCAR scene in 2005 with RCR and drove the team’s NASCAR XFINITY Series entry to two poles, two wins and second-place finish in the standings. Since making that splash, Bowyer has gone on to post a total of 19 combined wins in Cup, XFINITY and Camping World Truck Series.
- Bowyer won the 2008 NASCAR XFINITY Series championship after posting one win and 29 Top-10 finishes in 35 races.
- When Bowyer registered his first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series win at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sept. 16, 2007, it completed the NASCAR sweep of winning at least one race in all three of the sport’s top divisions.
- Versatility is an undoubted strength for Bowyer, who has won on every type of track NASCAR offers. Among the race tracks he’s won at in Cup are Sonoma, Charlotte, New Hampshire, Richmond and Talladega.
