FORDS SHOW UP IN FORCE FOR IMPORTS DAY AT M1 CONCOURSE CARS & COFFEE

Blue Mustang GT on display

PONTIAC, Mich. – Many monthly cars & coffee events schedule rotating brands or themes for their gatherings to help draw different enthusiasts each time out, and the monthly cruise-in at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan (just north of Detroit) is no different. We recently covered their season-opening cars & coffee when Fords and Lincolns HERE -- were featured – and the turnout was great. But you might be surprised to find out that at last month’s gathering showcasing import brands, a wide variety of Fords showed up in force and made their presence felt.

The M1 Concourse facility is a car-lover’s dream, with a 1.5-mile road course track, a paved skid pad, and a few hundred private-garage man caves. Over the fair-weather months, the crew at M1 open the gates to the general public for huge cars & coffee events where car owners bring the vehicles and local sponsors supply the coffee and donuts. Early arriving attendees wind up parking up and down the skid pad, as well as multiple vendors and any M1 concourse display vehicles. Once that fills up, they begin parking vehicles on either side of the track, which fills up quickly when the weather is nice.

Our own super-enthusiast and longtime photojournalist, Ford retiree Bill Cook, visited M1 last month when JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) and Asian vehicles were featured – although all brands were invited and welcome. Bill found there were plenty of Fords to see among the imports, from classic Mustangs and Fords to modern Shelbys and even Ford GT’s. Check out Bill’s photo gallery below for just a sample of the Blue Oval rides in attendance that morning:
