WAMPUM, PA – Ford Marketing retiree and super enthusiast Bill Cook, whose car show photography has been a staple in the Enthusiasts section of FordPerformance.com for years, also happens to be a longtime Mustang Boss 302 owner and aficionado. So it should be no surprise that he was an eager participant (along with his Boss-owning son-in-law Dan Teoh) at the 2024 Boss Reunion this past summer, or that he would provide for us a recap of the event along with more photos than we could possibly post. Catch Bill’s email to us about the show below, then feast your eyes on some of the Boss Mustang action he captured at this year’s reunion in his photo galley below:
“Daniel Teoh and I drove to Pittsburgh on August 30 to attend the three-day Boss Reunion at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex. Dan trailered his 1970 Pastel Blue Boss 302 and I drove my 2013 Race Red Boss 302. The host hotel was the Marriott Pittsburgh North in Cranberry Township, which was my third visit there for car events in the past five years. (It is ironically exactly 302 miles from my house in Rochester Hills, Michigan!)
“The 2024 Boss Reunion was a great three-day event (organized by Lisa Leathery and Randy Ream) which offered a High Performance Driving Experience through Auto Interests, Low-key Auto-X, plus Boss Concours Judging, Celebrity Awards, a Friday night banquet, paced Parade Laps on-track, excellent Boss merchandise, as well as Boss vendors and a Boss Swag Bag for attendees.
“Our Boss Reunion guest speakers included: Bill Barr (Ford Engineer on the Boss 302/428CJ); Donald Farr (Mustang owner since ’70 and premier Mustang journalist and editor since ’77); John Harp (at Kar-Kraft during the Boss 429 program until they closed their doors); Joe Flowers (the Boss enthusiast/owner of a rare Boss 429); Paul Rocha (known Bullitthead, plus founder of HoonDog Performance and the Mohawk Track Experience; and John Grafelman, owner/restorer of Larry Shinoda’s original 1969 Boss prototype.
“The event featured a great selection of cars and a great group of Boss and Ford enthusiasts. Yeah, it was warm . . . hot, actually. And yes, we had some showers on Saturday. Still, nothing seemed to stop our fun, as there were lots of smiles all around all weekend long.”
