DETROIT, Mich. – Ford once again stole the spotlight at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), where thousands of automotive journalists from around the globe descended upon Detroit to see what many of the world’s automakers have in store for the future. Yes, the news that performance fans everywhere have been waiting for had finally arrived: Ford unveiled its all-new 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 at the 2019 edition of NAIAS.

After a video depicted a new GT500 being airlifted to the Motor City’s convention center, attendees responded with applause as the most powerful street-legal Mustang ever – with its 700-plus supercharged horsepower -- was lowered from the Cobo Center rafters. Another Ford Performance vehicle to make its debut was the 2020 Ford Explorer ST. The all-new rear-drive 2020 Explorer ST employs a specially tuned 3.0-liter EcoBoost® engine projected to achieve 400 horsepower. With so much happening at the last Detroit NAIAS to be held in the winter, we sent our FordPerformance.com staff to Downtown Detroit while the covers were being pulled off Ford’s latest vehicle debuts during Press Days -- before the public gets their chance to see the show. We toured the entire Ford display area to give you an insider’s look at the vehicles that, again this year, helped make Ford the talk of the international automotive world.
