MUSTANGS SHINE AT CARLISLE EVENTS’ LAKELAND WINTER FLORIDA AUTOFEST

Lakeland (24)

LAKELAND, Fla. – Carlisle Events, based in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, was founded more than four decades ago by two friends who shared an interest in the automotive hobby – Bill Miller Jr. and the late Chip Miller (no relation). Back in 2012, Carlisle Events purchased the Fall and Winter Zephyrhills AutoFest events that were held in Zephyrhills, Florida. But as those shows grew, it became clear that a larger facility was needed. The Winter AutoFest in February of 2015 was the last time the event was held in Zephyrhills before it was moved last year to the Sun 'N Fun Complex in Lakeland and became known as the Winter Florida AutoFest.

The Imperial Mustangs of Polk County club plays host for the annual “Mustangs & Mustangs……Legends Havin’ Fun” show each February, and recently teamed up with Carlisle Events to run its show concurrently with the Winter Florida AutoFest adjacent to the Sun ’N Fun complex. All Ford-powered vehicles are welcome. The combination of the Mustang Show, the AutoFest car show and all the other Carlisle-sponsored events such a swap meet and collector vehicle auction makes for a fun-filled weekend.

Longtime Shelby enthusiast and SAAC-MCR club founder Jeff Burgy took some time to take in this year’s Winter Florida AutoFest and snapped photos of many of the notable Fords that he found on display there. He agreed to share his photos with us, so check out some of the Blue Oval beauties in his gallery below:
