Ford Performance continues its commitment to drag racing by extending NHRA Funny Car driver – and fastest man in drag racing – Bob Tasca III.

"Bob's relentless drive for success aligns perfectly with Ford's commitment to pushing the limits of performance,” said Mark Rushbrook, Global Director of Ford Performance Motorsports. “Together, we will continue to chase victory and uphold the legacy of Ford's racing heritage."

Ford Performance will be a primary sponsor for 10 races in the 2024 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series and a supporting sponsor for the remainder. The first race for the Tasca Ford Performance Ford Mustang Dark Horse will be the Pomona Winternationals at In-And-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip March 21-24. Ford’s Motorcraft Quick Lane is a primary sponsor for Tasca Racing for six races this season.

Tasca is a 15-time NHRA Funny Car winner and, as of February 2024, the fastest man in drag racing, as he and his Ford Mustang Dark Horse Funny Car broke the world speed record with a blistering 341.68 mph run in Bradenton, Fla. He then broke the Gainesville Raceway Funny Car speed record at the NHRA Gatornationals season opener with a 338.09 mph qualifying pass.

The Tasca family has a storied history with Ford. Tasca III’s grandfather Bob Tasca developed the original Ford Mustang Cobra Jet Lightweight platform that was so successful Ford began producing the setup in 1968. Bob Tasca coined the phrase, “Win on Sunday, Sell on Monday,” a mindset that carries through the Ford Performance dedication to motorsports.

"The support and resources provided by Ford have been instrumental in our success, and I am eager to build upon our achievements together in the years ahead,” said Tasca III. “With Ford Performance behind us, the sky's the limit."
