FERNDALE, MI – There are literally thousands of car cruises that take place across the United States each and every year, but none of them can truly compare to the annual Woodward Dream Cruise, billed as the largest single-day automotive event on the planet. This yearly celebration of Detroit iron takes place along an 8-mile stretch of legendary Woodward Avenue just north of Detroit on the third Saturday in August. It attracts more than 40,000 collectible and classic rides and more than 1 million people – making for a totally unforgettable automotive experience.
With Ford Motor Company being the event’s presenting sponsor for the seventh consecutive year, it’s only natural that you’d see all sorts of Fords traveling up and down the avenue -- whether they’re cruising by themselves, with friends and fellow enthusiasts, or even meeting new ones at the many Ford-centric stops along the way, from Mustang Alley to the multiple Ford show sites set up on the cruise route. Here you’ll find nearly every sort of Ford vehicle spanning well over a century of sales, from model Ts to Ford GTs.
To get you just a glimpse of some of the sweet Blue Oval machines seen at the 2024 Woodward Dream Cruise, we asked our star Ford Performance photographer, Joe Deladvitch, to get out onto Woodward and try to capture just a sample of the fine Fords that were out along Woodward on cruise day. There was so much to see that we’ll be bringing you a series of “Quick Looks” from our Dream Cruise coverage again this year -- but for now, Joe sifted through hundreds of his photos to offer you some of his cruise-day favorites for you to enjoy in the gallery below:
