RECREATION ‘BULLITT’ CHASE CARS UP FOR BIDS AT BARRETT-JACKSON

B-J Bullitt clone

DEARBORN, Mich. - This would be a great weekend to head for Las Vegas. That’s because Barrett-Jackson rolls into the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino for its 11th Annual Las Vegas Auction, Sept. 27-29, 2018. If just the whole Barrett-Jackson Auction premier automotive lifestyle experience isn’t quite enough to get you to jump on the next flight to Sin City, then how about getting the chance to bid on a couple of cool recreations of the famed chase cars from the Bullitt movie? That’s right, both a heroic ’68 Ford Mustang Bullitt re-creation (Lot #668) that comes with Steve McQueen’s signature and a certificate of authenticity, and the movie’s villain car, a black ’68 Dodge Charger R/T (Lot #688) that’s powered by a 426 Hemi engine with a 4-speed manual transmission and only 500 miles since its restoration are on the block up for bids this weekend. Own the pair and go make some movie history of your own.

For Ford performance enthusiasts, Barrett-Jackson will be a Candyland that also includes a ’68 rotisserie-restored Shelby GT350 custom fastback (Lot #698), plus a ’70 Torino Cobra 429 J-Code (Lot #647.1). One of 1,357, this Calypso Vermillion J-Code had a highly detailed build, down to every bracket, nut and bolt, which is either reconditioned or new. Late-model Mustangs include a ’08 Roush Trak Pak Coupe (Lot #388) that is #40 of 100 built and has only 15,000 actual miles. With only 2,825 original miles, a ’07 Shelby GT500 Super Snake (Lot #447) is powered by 725hp engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission with short-throw shifter. It was built at the Shelby American factory in Las Vegas and was documented in the official Shelby Registry as CSM #07SS0066. Check Barrett-Jackson.com for more info.

Speaking of not wanting to miss out, remember the one-off Kona Blue 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt that Ford unveiled during last month’s Woodward Dream Cruise and showed off at the massive Mustang Memories show the day after behind Ford World Headquarters? So does everybody else in the Mustang world! Ever wonder what happened to it? The good news is, nothing yet – until, that is, it winds up in some raffle winner’s driveway on November 13, 2018.

That’s right – you still have time to buy the winning ticket and make this super-collectible new Mustang yours, all while helping out a wonderful charity. Ford had turned just one, Bottom of Form

iconic Dark Highland Green 2019 Mustang Bullitt Kona Blue to help benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JRDF), and in doing so one lucky raffle participant will drive home in this one-of-a-kind Mustang.

Like the other 2019 Mustang Bullitts, the Kona Blue version features a performance-tuned 5.0-liter V-8 capable of producing 480 horsepower. However, it also comes with unique gray wheels and blue cabin stitching, as well as unique side scoops on the rear windows. (The 2019 Mustang Bullitt is typically available in only Dark Highland Green and Shadow Black.)

“If you look at the tone and color of Kona Blue, it’s really dark,” said Mustang brand manager Mark Schaller. “It fits with the overall design scheme of the car. You want it to be understated. You don’t want loud, bright colors. You want something dark and stealthy.”

The Kona Blue Bullitt was on display at Mustang Alley during the dream cruise. The car’s next big appearance will be at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) in Las Vegas.

Tickets for the raffle, which benefits Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), are $10 at locations where the Kona Blue Bullitt will be on display and are available online at www.onecause.com/jdrfbullitt through Nov. 8. A winner will be selected on Nov. 13.

“There’s been an overwhelmingly positive response to the 2019 Mustang Bullitt,” Schaller said. “This is the way it can give back to a good cause and at the same time carve out a small niche where there is the unique one-of-one car out there driving around that helps add to the collectability of the car in the long run.”

As many as 60,000 tickets are expected to be sold for the raffle. Now here’s the insider info on the raffle: Yes, the winner is responsible claiming the vehicle on their Income Taxes, plus for Vehicle Taxes, Licensing, Insurance, Pick-up/Delivery or shipping from Dearborn, Michigan. You need not be present to win. You can get info on www.facebook.com/FordGlobalWalkTeam  and all tickets are $10 each. Tickets will be sold through the end of the day on November the 8th or until all 60,000 printed are sold out. Online orders will be open until November 9th. The drawing will occur on November 13 at approximately 11:00 a.m. EST at the Ford Conference and Event Center in Dearborn, Michigan. If you order a ticket online at www.onecause.com/jdrfbullitt use Chrome and not Explorer as your internet browser. Note that online orders do not receive a paper ticket, just a confirmation – tickets stubs are automatically printed/assigned and loaded into the raffle bin.

The first 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt was auctioned for charity in January, raising $300,000 for Boys Republic, a nonprofit school and treatment community for troubled youngsters which actor Steve McQueen attended prior to becoming an icon behind the wheel of a 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback in the film “Bullitt.” It’s time to create your own Bullitt story. Get your ticket today, and become part of Mustang collector car history!

Speaking of Mustangs, we’ve got big news! Ford Performance has just launched an exciting new program called “Club Connect” that will help all Ford and Mustang enthusiasts get connected – and we’re giving away a 2019 Ford Mustang EcoBoost to help get you involved and excited too! You owe it to your Mustang or Ford vehicle club, online forum or Facebook Group to register and appear on our Ford enthusiasts map – it’s simple and it’s FREE! Just go to www.FordPerformanceClubConnect.com and click on “Register Your Club” to get on the Ford Performance Club Connect map. It takes only a few seconds. While you’re there, enter to win a brand-new 2019 Mustang EcoBoost Coupe of your choosing, delivered to the dealer of your choice! No raffle tickets to buy, lottery numbers to pick, no cost to enter, no need to be present to win – you don’t have to register a club or even be a member of an enthusiast group yourself to submit an entry.

The primary goal of our Ford Performance Club Connect program is to get everyone to register their club – for free – and get themselves on our Ford enthusiast group map so that we can all connect with each other. Once there, you’ll be able to see all of the other clubs and groups who have registered – not just Mustang clubs, but ALL Ford vehicle organizations and Facebook Groups who you may never have known about. The value in that is that whenever you plan a group activity, you can see what other clubs and groups in your area you may wish to contact for joining you at a show or event, giving you a direct link to all interested parties. And the next part of our program can be even more valuable for your club.

For those of you who have been struggling with your club websites or have given up entirely with a move to Facebook, Ford Performance Club Connect offers a club website template and hosting service that puts all the elements of club communications together on your site that we maintain for you. It’s set up so that you use your own club logo, photos, event calendar and club news space, and the template ties it to your club’s Facebook feed, and Ford’s own news feed – all appearing on the same home page at once! For a reasonable monthly fee that you can bill to a credit card or pay in advance, we host, support and update you club’s site and home page with Ford news – and you just add what club stuff you need and like when you want to. That way your members get your club news, your club’s own Facebook feed plus direct news, happenings and product info directly from Ford all in one place -- on YOUR club’s website! It makes your site a one-stop shop. All of your members and site visitors can access your club footprint, even from their phone, and get all the info they need to participate in your club life.

It takes only a few seconds to register your club, and just a click or two to have us contact you with your info about our Ford Performance Club Connect website template and hosting service. If you want to go the extra mile by hosting past newsletters or event photo galleries on your site as well, our support team can customize our template to expand its capability for a slight upcharge. No webmasters needed. And it’s all backed and supported by a real enthusiast staff managed by Ford Performance. No more club website hassles or headaches, no more FOMO on the club’s Facebook page, and more being left out of the loop with Ford and Mustang news and info. It’s kind of like your site being a living 24-7-365 club newsletter, powered by Ford!

And oh – while you’re checking out www.FordPerformanceClubConnect.com to register your club, connect with us, or just find a club or event, don’t forget to submit your entry for that 2019 Ford Mustang EcoBoost we’re giving away. (Don’t think you can win? That’s what last year’s winner said.) So what are you waiting for? Go online to www.FordPerformanceClubConnect.com right now. If you prefer to email us about it, send a note to ClubHub@Ford.com, or you could simply call our Ford Performance Info Center, toll-free during regular business hours, at 1-800-FORD-788 (800-367-3788) and ask for information about the new Ford Performance Club Connect program.

Unfortunately, we only have a few more weeks to get everyone to check out our Club Connect program and enter to win our 2019 Mustang, as the contest ends on December 1, 2018. That’s where YOU come in. We not only need your help by registering your club and entering the Club Connect sweeps yourself right away, but also by telling every Ford friend you know to go and do the same. We need EVERYBODY to register and connect. Will you please help?

In the meantime, make sure you get out there and enjoy your performance Ford before the end of the year. Find and attend a club meeting, a car show, cruise, or any driving or racing event. Join a Ford club or enthusiast group and discover the fun and all the friendly people involved in the world of Ford Performance. We’re sure that being connected with each other and with Ford will make “Driving Ford Passion” even more enjoyable!

No matter what you decide you’d like to do with your free time, the great thing about owning a performance Ford is that – unlike with buying one of those “appliances” from the other automakers – when you buy a Ford, you buy into an entire enthusiast world! That’s because Ford cars and trucks have the kind of personality and style that forges a personal connection with their owners, who in turn celebrate ownership each year at hundreds of enthusiast events all over the country.

Our Ford Performance Info Center has been hard at work expanding its "Certificate of Authenticity" program yet again to now include the 2015 and 2016 Shelby GT350 Mustang as well as the Shelby GT350R for those years. Many GT350 owners and enthusiasts will notice that this special package contains many of the items that were included in the Owners Supplement kit that came with GT350's when they were originally sold. Please note that there is LIMITED AVAILABILITY for these items, so order now!

Word of the new GT350 package comes on the heels of the recent announcement that the Ford Performance Info Center had also expanded its “Certificate of Authenticity” offerings to now include the 2014 MCA Edition Mustang.
