PONTIAC, Mich. – We’ve often told you about the M1 Concourse right off famed Woodward Avenue in Pontiac, Michigan, where car owners can enjoy their passion for all things automotive. It’s a place where enthusiasts can own their own private “car condo” garage surrounded by other enthusiasts, plus it includes on-site repair and restoration shops, restaurants and even a performance track. Champion Motor Speedway is a 1.5-mile road course that serves as the central feature of the M1 Concourse. Other facilities there include a multi-purpose outdoor event arena with a 2.5 acre skid-pad, and covered event spaces that can accommodate groups of 500 people.
Every month M1 hosts their now very popular Cars & Coffee events. Our roving car-show photographer, Ford marketing retire Bill Cook, has been attending many of these events this past summer, and had last decided to head back up to M1 on Saturday, June 30, for what he called a “very hot” Cars & Coffee. That’s because the temperature was in the 90-degree range, and that’s not to mention the high humidity nor the added heat Bill encountered rising from the sun-baked asphalt. Even so, Bill says, there was “as always a huge turnout and a good time.” While the featured cars on this day were “Exotics,” Bill found plenty of Fords on display there to capture in photos. He shares some of his favorite shots with you in the gallery below:
