INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Ford Performance correspondent and Ford retiree Bill Cook was in attendance at The Brickyard Vintage Racing Invitational at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. When the 2017 Hot Rod Power Tour just happened to roll into town. Making the most out of his trip, Bill stopped at the Lucas Oil Raceway and captured some of the Ford Hot Rods as they made their way across America. This year marks the 23rd straight year for The Hot Rod Power Tour and each year the tour gets bigger and better.
The 2017 Tour featured an event-packed seven-day, seven-city drive. Considered to be one of the ultimate car enthusiast experiences, this year’s run drew more than 6,000 vehicles and 10,000 plus spectators along the route from June 10-16. The tour began with its kickoff event in Kansas City, then intertwined throughout the cities of the Midwest, and wrapped up at the Finale Event in Bowling Green, Kentucky. In addition to the drive, participants got to experience seven days of entertainment, celebrities, games, giveaways, multiple drag strip fun runs, and autocross events. When Cook spotted the Tour’s stopover in Indianapolis, he walked through the entries and snapped photos of some of his favorite Fords on the tour for the gallery below:
