WACO, TX – Harris Lue is a graphics artist out of Waco, Texas, whose passion for Mustang has helped him build a cool car – and career. Harris told us that when he was just 15 back in 2007, he purchased a well-worn 1993 Mustang for $700. Little by little over the years he has turned his high-mile four-cylinder Mustang into a turbocharged street stunner. Check out the details – and a link to a video that he made about his car – below:
“I’m the owner of a 1993 Mustang LX that started life as a $700 naturally aspirated 2.3-liter ‘Beater’ back in 2007. I was just 15 at the time and it was my first car, so it's been the vehicle that taught me everything about turning wrenches and general auto restoration. From what the previous owner told me, this Mustang spent time as a paint truck and the interior and exterior were pretty much shot when I got it.
“After an almost complete restoration, paint and bodywork, I drove the original 2.3L engine to around 245K miles before I yanked it out and transplanted the 2.3L Turbo engine from a 1987 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe.
"I’ve included a rundown of my work on the car below, plus a link to the mini documentary shot by Garrett Poulos Productions which tells my car’s backstory here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2NF-G0g7J8Q&nohtml5=False (As the founder and owner of LUE Creative, I hope you enjoy my video.)”
