NORTHVILLE, MI – When it comes to high-end Concours d’Elegance auto shows, it’s usually the most exclusive, rare and exotic automobiles that gain all the enthusiast attention. But what about celebrating some of the other beloved collectible cars that happen to be more attainable? That’s exactly the idea behind having a Cars & Coffee style event for a variety of popular cars and trucks before hosting a fancy concours show for the well-to-do. But why not make the Cars & Coffee gathering even more special? Indeed, that was the plan for organizers of Michigan’s Northville Concours D’Elegance this past July – who came up with the idea of tapping into the popularity of the Ford Mustang to draw added interest – and attendance – to their pre-Concours Cars & Coffee event. That, and moving the venue to a collector car warehouse, turned out to be the formula for quite a large turnout.

The suburban Detroit community of Northville, Michigan, is a mecca for enthusiasts of every stripe, so having a Concourse there makes things feel right at home. But choosing the Mustang as the featured marque at the pre-Concours Cars & Coffee event was an unexpected surprise for members of the local Mustang Owner’s Club of SouthEastern Michigan (MOCSEM), many of whom who were honored to find reserved parking for their Mustang at center stage, right out in front of the entrance -- and just steps from the coffee!

The 2025 Northville Concours d’Elegance Cars & Coffee Event was considered the highlight of this year’s automotive celebration, offering enthusiasts, collectors, friends and family the opportunity to enjoy a gathering of some of the finest classic and collectible vehicles in the country. The Cars & Coffee Event was sponsored by and hosted at the Vanguard Motor Sales Car Warehouse, where attendees had the unique opportunity to enjoy touring the stunning collection of cars stored by Vanguard while enjoying coffee, cold beverages and fresh donuts and pastries provided by a local baker. What’s more, “Mr. HotWheels” was on hand to give out HotWheels cars and stuffed animals, bringing joy to the kids who attended. The goal was to make the Cars & Coffee an immersive experience that celebrates automotive passion, innovation, and camaraderie.

As it turned out, between Vanguard Motor Sales’ mission of “parking your dream in your driveway,” and the Northville Concours d’Elegance’s goal of “inspiring the next generation of automotive enthusiasts,” both were able to succeed in that effort, thanks to an overflowing show lot full of all sorts of cool rides. Adding extra Mustangs to the mix is always a good idea, so that’s why we drove out in our own Mustang to share a morning of talking cars with fans, friends and Mustang club members, looking at classics for sale and having a free coffee and donut or two to start the day off right. We brought along our camera so that we could share with you some photos of just a few of the Mustangs and Fords we saw at the event. Enjoy:
